Columbus mayoral candidate Andrew Ginther is a shoo-in for November鈥檚 election. But who his opponent will be is less clear.
Franklin County Zach Scott received the second most votes in the field of four candidates. As of now, Scott leads Republican Terry Boyd by 151 votes.
But there could be a recount.
Franklin County Board of Elections spokesman Ben Piscitelli explained how that could happen.
鈥淭hat margin would have to fall to 111 votes or less to require a recount," Piscitelli said. "Outstanding absentee votes and provisional votes may narrow that margin and force a recount.鈥
Piscitellis said there are 1,790 absentee and 580 provisional ballots that remain uncounted. Those won鈥檛 be counted for ten days.
The elections board must certify the all votes by May 26.
