Both Democrats and Republicans in are condemning Wednesday鈥檚
In emails and on Twitter, Ohio鈥檚 members of Congress were quick to respond. Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown tweeted it was an attack on democracy.
Republican Sen. Rob Portman, in a post, called on the president to condemn the 鈥渦nacceptable vandalism and violence.鈥
Republicans in Ohio鈥檚 House delegation, some of whom have said they had planned to protest Wednesday鈥檚 electoral vote count in Congress also joined in the condemnation.
Rep. Bob Gibbs tweeted it was 鈥渟hameful, unacceptable and un-American.鈥
And Rep. Bill Johnson said he was 鈥渟hocked and dismayed by the violence in the Capitol.鈥
Democratic Congresswoman Marcia Fudge, President-elect Joe Biden鈥檚 nominee to head the Department of Housing and Urban Development, called it a 鈥渄ay that will live in infamy.鈥
